Katie Murray, Class of 2008, Peace Corps volunteer.
Katie writes: "I am doing really well over here in Benin, West Africa. My post is in the
south, right outside the city of Bohicon. My village (Lissezoun) is great and away from the hustle and bustle, but I can access the city in an easy 15-minute bike ride.

Natasha McKellar earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Christopher Newport University, with an emphasis in writing. Additionally, at CNU she completed a minor in women’s and gender studies, as well as one in Spanish. Subsequently, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics from Old Dominion University, a graduate certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, and a graduate certificate in women’s studies.
Currently, Natasha teaches English as a Second Language at two Newport News Public Schools elementary schools. Additionally, she serves as the membership chair of the Virginia Association of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (VATESOL). She feels grateful to all of her professors for preparing her for this exciting teaching career! |
